The Baltasar Corrada Del Río internship offers university students an invaluable public service opportunity. Participants in this summer internship (June 15 to July 30) will contribute to activities carried out in various offices attached to the Puerto Rico State Department (including the Office of the Secretary of State).

Be an American citizen or legal US resident
Be between the age of 18 and 29. Every student under 21 year of age, must submit a valid authorization signed by their parents or legal guardian.
Be enrolled in an associate’s, a bachelor’s, masters or doctoral degree program.
Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week during the internship.
Have an updated resume.
Submit two (2) letters of recommendation; one by a professor and the other one can be of personal or professional nature.
A minimum of 3.00 average.
Have knowledge of the English language, written and verbal.
Submit an essay answering the following question:
a) ¿Cómo consideras Puerto Rico puede insertarse a nivel internacional, desde el aspecto económico, político y social?
b) ¿Cómo usted puede contribuir a mejorar los servicios que se proveen en el Departamento de Estado?
